Selection Procedure
In order to qualify for selection in any airline in India, the applicant must be a CPL holder:
- Preferably have a type rating
- Should be medically fit (Class I)
- Preferably should not have crossed the age of 35
IGRUA trains students to become airline pilots. At present nearly 70 – 80 % of all the pilots flying in India are Ex – IGRUANs. Cost of the course is Rs. 45 lakhs. Other expected expenses are as follows:
- Boarding and lodging Rs. 15000/- per month, approx.
- Uniform, training material, Navigation Computer, Headphone, study material and personal accident Insurance etc Rs. 2,00,000/-
In order to join IGRUA you must have a 10 + 2 pass certificate with PCM and be medically fit.
Selection Procedure
The Selection Procedure is as follows:
- A Online for Entrance Examination at various centres all over India- Process outsourced to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to ensure transparency
- Pilot Aptitude Test ,
- the interview by an interview board
Admission Charges and Commitment Money: All selected candidates including SC/ST/EWS/OBC will be required to pay,
- Admission Charges (Non Refundable)- Rs. 50,000/-
- Commitment money of Rs. 2,00,000/- non refundable but adjustable against training fee.
- To secure seat on first come first serve basis.
The selection of candidates for Ab-initio to CPL Course is done as per merit compiled after Online Test, Pilot Aptitude Test and the Interview. Reservation quota of the total number of seats is as per GoI guidelines for SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories of candidates.

Successful candidates in Online Test undergo Pilot Aptitude Test and Interview. A merit list is prepared for different categories of candidates as per GOI guidelines and the shortlisted candidates are issued Instructions to join in batches for effective utilization of our resources. The batches are formed on the basis of commitment money to paid by the Candidate to secure their seat on first come first served basis.
Examination Centres
Online Test for Entrance Exam is conducted on all India basis at major cities covering all Indian States and Union Territories subject to availability of sufficient candidates at respective centres.

Medical
Candidate must have height of at least 5ft 2 inches. Class 2 Medical Certificate is required before joining the course and it is advised to undergo Class 1 Medical at the earliest since it is a prerequiste for issue of CPL. B.Sc. (Aviation) Degree Course
Total seats as of now are 40 only. Selection from Non Graduate Candidates, who are students of IGRUA is made based on 10+2 Physics, Maths & English Marks. In case of a tie then aggregate of 10+2(all subjects) is considered. If still there is a tie then 10th Marks are given credence. A merit list is prepared and the first 40 students are given a choice, if they wish to do the BSc. (Aviation), Degree will be given by Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University (RMLAU). Cost per year is Rs. 20,000/=. Duration of the course is 03 years.
