Trade Defence

As per the directions of Commerce Secretary, a Trade Defence Wings (Erstwhile CVD Cell) has been created in DGTR to act as a nodal point for defending Indian exporters from the countervailing duty investigations initiated by other WTO Member Countries and to submit the response to Questionnaire for the Govt. of India. The cell also coordinates with the all concerned Departments like Commodity Divisions, Administrative Ministries/Departments, State Governments, Indian Missions, Export Promotion Councils and Commodity Boards, Exporters and Legal Counsels (engaged for defending the Countervailing Duty investigations) in finalize the response to the questionnaire for the Government. The Trade Defence Wings came into effect on 01st April, 2016 to coordinate all CVD cases initiated by various Investigation Authorities viz. United States Department of Commerce (USDOC), United States International Trade Commission (USITC), Canada Border Security Agency (CBSA), Canada International Trade Tribunal (CITT), European Commission (EC) etc.
